I like the Irony in your high school's name....University High School, and you had guys over 17'1 and 16'0 it works, seems more like university level heights.

Our record is 8' for guys and 4.5' for girls. I was the 8' at a track meet and the other vaulter (girl) is 4.5' she atleast tries.

When I was in high school (last century) the record was 16', that is until I got a hold of it, when I left it was 16' 4" indoors and 17' 1" outdoors, for a while my sister had the girls record around 9'6" I think, who knows what it is now.
