Eric at 16' something
and another boy at 13'6"

I like the Irony in your high school's name....University High School, and you had guys over 17'1 and 16'0  it works, seems more like university level heights.

My hs record is 15' 8 3/4" set back in 1975. I was the only person in that 28 years to come close to it. but i was 11 3/4" away from gettting that height.

Our record is 8' for guys and 4.5' for girls. I was the 8' at a track meet and the other vaulter (girl) is 4.5' she atleast tries.

When I was in high school (last century) the record was 16', that is until I got a hold of it, when I left it was 16' 4" indoors and 17' 1" outdoors, for a while my sister had the girls record around 9'6" I think, who knows what it is now.
