Just had the pleasure of attending the danish youth national championships.
The agegroup 14-15 year old boys highjump competition was won by a 14 year old boy who's just 165 cm high.
Curiously enough, the boy started his T&F career in Octobre last year, and jumps in a pair of Nike Zoom PV/TJ shoes.
The 195 cm jump was also a new nordic record, I believe.
High Jump: 14 year old jumps 30 cm above own height

He has recently jumped 2.01:

He was in fact mentioned on Stefan Holm's blog.... (in swedish: http://www.scholm.com).
Strong contender for the danish indoor championship, that is being held this weekend. The athlete I coach, who's second on the statistics, "only" has a PR of 185.

Impressive amputee jumping. Anyone who jumps equal or above own height is impressive. Only having one leg, does definately not make this a great effort.
The danish national indoor championships were held this weekend. Jannick won the 14-15 year bracket witout going full throttle. He stopped at 1.90m when victory was secured, to conserve power for the senior mens competiton.
The level of danish highjumping is nothing to brag about, and the kid very nearly won the senior mens championship, when he cleared 2.02 (new national age record) in the first attempt. The defending champ had to use all three attempts before clearing with a good margin. 2.05 was too much for Jannick (but I seriously doubt it will take long before he does take it), and the defending champ nailed 2.05m to take the win.
On a positive note. This was the first national championship held in Denmark for 14 years!!!! No other eligible facilities have existed before the new Sparbank Arena was built last year. Previous championships has been held in Sweden.

1 cm below world leading for his age....

Now 16 years old (and 1,76m high, I think), he won the silver at the WYC (PR'ed by 7 cm):

Also impressive jumping by Dmitriy Kroyter (who can be seen at a training video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPn8cZoFNpU)
