He's right. At least get someone knowledgable to watch some of your vaults, and you can stay away from things like blocking and planting late much more easily.

vault3rb0y wrote:This might sound like a stupid question, but do you practice with a coach every time you jump? If you dont have someone there, especially during this phase of your jumping, its really easy to form bad habits that get harder and harder to break as you jump more. If you have a coach he/she can keep you away from those types of things.

Well, the whole time i was learning to vault in HS, we didn't really have a coach... our PV coach was the hurdle coach and was never over with us so we mostly vaulted on our own.

Now that i'm jumping again i DO have a coach to watch and help and its good. He immediately pointed out some of my vaults problems and we're working on correcting them. This place is awesome because on top of my coaches advice i can get other vaulters' advice on here.

Practice yesterday was cancelled, so no new videos, but i will be practicing wednesday and thursday so i'll get on here sometime after that when i have new videos and post again!!!
suck it up.

Where DO you practice? Your set up sounds great! You've got practices all the time! I wish I had that. Maryland doesn't really have track clubs that I know of, especially near me. :(
