Inversion

Unread postby vaultingirlie » Tue Jul 10, 2007 11:41 pm

I am having a problem getting completely inverted. I know it has to do with not finishing the row. I know what I have to do just don't know how to do it. I was wondering if anyone has drills or has anything any thoughts or 'tricks' to help me learn to finish off my row and get inverted.

No I don't have any recent videos.. Next time I practice I will try to get some. If it helpsI weigh 135 and I am a 12 foot vaulter holding at 13, the top of a 145 pacer fx.. I'm not sure if that helps..

I found some old videos, the first is from the beginning of indoor, the second is the beginning of outdoor. http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a250/ ... 8897a4.flv

I think if you copy and past the urls you will be able to view the videos. If not I'm not sure how to post them.

looking at your plant in the avator you will never get inverted. Locking out at plant will delay your swing and cause it to be late. You will not have enough time to cover the pole. Sorry no inversion for you. Worry about getting on longer poles to jump higher if you keep that plant.

Though just watched your videos and your not locked out in them. The question is which do you practice locked out or not. If you taught your body one timing that timing will be used during your jumps in meets.

Haha thanks. In that first video I am about a foot and a half under.. So my plant usually does not look like that, it is more like the plant in my picture..

LOL well then if those videos don't demonstrate how you normally vault than they really are not helpful. Best of luck.
