A miss for Lacy and it is over.

So Jillian jumps higher than the winner and gets 3rd.

So the jump off is higher than the winning jump?

Yep, the jumpoff winning height for third place is higher than the 1st place winning jump.
Odd how things like this play out.
Could have happened during the mens high jump, but it didn't.

I see the weather was an issue again this year for all the competitiors.

Anyone know where this meet will be next year?

2008 Olympic Trials are in Eugene, Oregon. I don't know where the Junior meet will be.

Good work, Thanks. I no sooner saw Tyson Gay's run on TV when I read it here. :yes:

None of the girls jumped near their capabilities. I would imagine weather conditions is the reason for this.

I guess these results show that Jenn isn't completely out of reach for all the other girls. (Since Niki jumped the same height and Jill jumped higher than her during the jump off).

Congrats to all the girls and guys that made worlds. It should be good

Obviously the mistake will be corrected but here's what I got from USATF via email;

Stuczynski comes through in Gill women's pole vault

"Slick conditions and swirling winds played havoc with the jumping events, but American record holder Jenn Stuczynski still was able to come out on top in the Gill women's pole vault, clearing 4.45m/14-7.25. Nikole McEwen was second at the same height, clearing on her second attempt, with Lacy Janson third at 4.35m/14-3.25."

That was Lacy's official height. Jump off heights go in a separate category.
