Pole Equal to or Less than Weight.
Do you think this is safe. My pole is rated at 145 lbs. and I weigh about 145lbs. although it rises up and down throughout the day. My pole is about 14 feet long. Also this is my first year so please bear with me.

That completely depends on the vaulter. Some vaulters think that the more bend they get the higher they will jump...which is absolutly false. Those people tend to want to get on smaller poles because they bend so much, and that is extremely dangerous. But, for vaulters that vault correctly, is should not be that big of a problem (unless the pole is way to soft for the vaulter, but again, that depends on several things.)
I'm a swing vaulter, and I can't get on as big of poles as other power-vaulter type jumpers. I jumped my PR on a pole that is "5 lbs under" my weight. But I was also holding about a foot down on it.
