YAKIMA - Bickleton's track team fared well at the Ike JV Invite held in Yakima yesterday (Tuesday), setting numerous personal records.
"Half of our team is gone...in Olympia, but others had a good day," said Coach Darrell Lang.
Eric Hess improved on breaking his own school record, setting yet another personal best in the shotput, throwing 46-7. Despite the impressive distance, Hess placed second in the event. In the discus, Hess also earned second place honors, throwing 120-1.
"Eric improved on his school record in the shot, while ninth grader Edgar (Molina) also had a big (personal record) in the shot," said Lang. Molina threw 110-5 in the shotput, earning third place honors just behind Hess.
Lady Pirate Danielle Raschko claimed first place honors and finally met her personal goal in the 3,200-meter run, clocking in at 12:57.58, going under 13 minutes for the first time.
Teammate Junior Hernandez also claimed first place honors in the 3,200-meter run, clocking in at 10:58.95.
Bickleton's Alejandra Molina threw the discus 88-7, earning a second place finish and setting yet another personal record.
Chelsey Mercer set a personal record and earned a fourth place finish in the long jump, leaping to 13-1.50.
Orion Yoesle set two personal records for the day, one in the 1,600-meter run and the mixed 3,200-meter run, clocking in at 5:48.42 and 12:53.17, respectively.
