Who wants to compete unattached this year?

Unread postby Sebes » Fri Sep 29, 2006 12:04 am

Hey,

I'm a retired college vaulter, second year out of school. I was wondering if anybody wanted to create a semi-serious season this year. We could create a schedule of open meets and help eachother out. I'm starting at an indoor meet at the University of Chicago in December. Let me know.

I have meets listed here: http://www.polevaultpower.com/college/2 ... bydate.php

Skyin Brian and Graham Danziger are both planning on competing (last I heard) and they are both in the St Louis area. Sue Kane is in the Chicago area.

Sounds awesome. I'd be interested however I'm recovering from brain surgery and don't know if I'll be 100% mentally and/or physically recovered. I coach too. So I jump but not as intense or regularly as I'd like. We'll see how this year goes though. The invitation to come vault with my vaulters is always on the table too. I'm in the Chicago land area.
Fight the good fight: It's nice to be great but it's far greater to be nice.

My Unattached Season

Unread postby Sebes » Wed Mar 14, 2007 1:58 pm

So my first Unattached Season has been a lot of fun. I've competed in about 7 meets: Sterling, two at Carthage, Vault O Rama, University of Chicago, McCormick Place, and one away meet for Cal State Fullerton at Mount SAC in California. I'm not jumping that high...but I'm having a blast travelling around, meeting people, and jumping. If anybody else out there has the itch, I recommend you do what I'm doing.

If you are looking for an outdoor meet, Marquette is having one on the weekend of the 13th and 14th. I don't think there is an entry fee either.....it may be kinda cold/windy, but that is what happens in Milwaukee in April sometimes.
