THE EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL CLUB NORTHWEST

S P R I N G B R E A K O P E N T R A C K & F I E L D M E E T

Edmonds District Stadium / Saturday, March 31, 2007 / 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

The best bet for "spring breakers" not in Mazatlan, Palm Beach, Santa Barbara, or Palo Alto -- we have enjoyed over 6900 entries in our first 17 years! This is an open meet -- send this information to anyone you think is interested! Naturally, we are very supportive of club athletes! We are planning on using electronic timing for all track events! We are assured by Edmonds that the 2005 drainage issues which caused flooding of the track after completion of a new infield are no longer a concern.

SITE
Edmonds District Stadium is located behind Edmonds-Woodway High School at 76th Avenue West and SW 212th in Edmonds, less than a block from Stevens Memorial Hospital and about two miles from I-5. The track has a nearly new surface. You may approach the school from I-5 by taking the southbound or northbound exit #179 at SW 220th, go west from the ramp and cross Highway 99 (Aurora Avenue). The next street is 76th Avenue West, where you will turn north (right). Park anywhere not signed as reserved. There are satisfactory areas for all field events except hammer throw, which will be held -- pending pre-entry only entries -- at West Seattle Stadium, 35th Ave SW and SW Avalon in West Seattle. We must have indications of three men and three women entrants by Friday, March 9, in order to hold the event.

ENTRIES
We employ a simple process for entries. In the same order as the time schedule below, type your electronic entries. Include each athlete's YEAR in school (or AGE for open athletes) and each athlete's personal best and season best marks for all events. Entry fees will be $3 per individual with no limit on events pre-registered, or $5 per individual if you or they wait to pay on meet day. Team entry fees are $60 per team, men and women considered separately. Fees will be increased for day of event payment, regardless of when you enter -- the fee you pay is determined by the DATE YOU PAY THE FEE, not the day you enter the meet! Club Northwest members pay nothing to pre-enter, and $3 on the day of the meet.

Send your pre-entries to tracknet@mac.com by Wednesday, March 28, at 5 p.m.

VOLUNTEERS
We always need all the help we can get! Volunteers are treated to a post-meet gathering. We hope to avoid it, but we will page for volunteers if we need to keep the meet going!

ADMISSION
An admission charge will be levied for spectators, which will be comparable to the entry fee.

Any assistance we can get from the North Seattle / South Snohomish
county dwellers would be appreciate for the Spring Break Open Meet,
Saturday, March 31, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds District
Stadium (76th Avenue West and Southwest 212th Street, across the
street from Stevens Memorial Hospital).

We offer all events except Hammer and Steeplechase. The event has
annually attracted 250 or so college, open, and masters athletes.
Complete information is available at www.clubnorthwest.org. Our last
event is scheduled for 4:50 p.m.

We do provide a post-meet meal for those who are inclined to put in a
good portion of the day. If you can let me know before the meet (as
opposed to coming out unannounced -- which, if you do, we will not
shoo you away, but we might not have enough places at the table),
that would be great. Most of our college coaches in the area will be
taking their elite athletes to Stanford, so this is a meet for the
rest of them -- if they haven't gone to Padre Island or Cancun for
their break!
