Run for the Dream Track Meet? - Cancelled
Hey, does anyone know if Bob Fraley is going to host the indoor "Run for the Dream" track meet honoring Martin Luther King this coming year again?

Run For The Dream To Take One Year Off; Return In 2008
Track issues force cancellation of the 2007 event.
Nov. 16, 2006
Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State's Run For The Dream indoor track meet, originally scheduled for Jan. 15, 2007, has been cancelled for this year due to delays in the construction of a new indoor track that will placed in the Save Mart Center. Plans for the 2008 Run For The Dream event are continuing as the meet remains a top priority for the university and the Fresno State Track & Field program.
"This year's event will unfortunately not be held as scheduled," said track and field head coach Bob Fraley. "Last year, we had a very good group of backers and great media support, and now we have the means to build a great portable indoor track and hold an outstanding meet starting in 2008."
Hosting a track and field meet for the first time last season, the Save Mart Center proved once again to be a tremendous venue for any sport, bringing in 5,806 fans in support of the inaugural Run For The Dream indoor track meet, held on Jan. 16, 2006. One of only two indoor events held in a large sports arena in the United States last year, the event saw one world masters record fall as well as a world-best time in the 160-yard dash set during the day by former Bulldog Chris Berrian.
The only complaint in what was a spectacular day for track and field was the track itself, a 160-meter track from the former Sunkist Track and Field Invitational. While a quality track from the time of its construction, it was dated in terms of the level of competition that the Run For The Dream was seeking.
With that in mind, plans were made for the construction of a top of the line indoor track as well as an even bigger and better Run For The Dream event in 2008.
"I'm traveling to Dallas this week for a meeting with USA Track & Field," explained Fraley. "With the venue and new facilities, I believe that there is a good chance that we can make the Run For The Dream part of the 2008 Visa Series, which would bring a large number of the elite athletes of the world here to Fresno in a great showcase for the sport."
Fresno State track and field held their first and only event of the fall on Wednesday, hosting the annual Turkey Trials. The full spring season will now begin on Jan. 19-20 when the team participates in the United States Pole Vault Summit, held in Reno, Nev.
