This competition featured a very young and talented group. Only 2 seniors among the bunch, and nearly everyone PR'd at their district meets.
My high school (King's) had 3 guys make it. Faidley had an off day. He had just finished the 300 hurdles, and still had the 4x400 ahead of him, so he was not as focused on the pole vault as he might have been. He cleared 10-6.
Dan Stueckle got on a bigger pole for the first time in warmups, and it worked great for him! He cleared 11-9 on his first try, a 3" PR, and good for 6th place.
Robb avoided NH3 (he NH'd as a freshman and soph) and cleared 12'6" for 3rd. He has a lot more in him, but was blowing through his pole the whole meet, and did not feel ready to try a new pole.
The Freeman and Kalama guys looked good as always. They are just sophomores and freshman, so I expect big things out of them in the future!
Man... did my feet hurt after standing in the fieldhouse all day!
I left for the track as soon as these guys were done... just missed the 1A Boys 4x400... but I find out that our girls team is down to Seattle Academy by 1 point heading into the 4x400!
In a very exciting race, we held our lead over SAAS. They got passed in the last 5 meters by another team, giving us the one point victory! Our girls won 57-56 and our boys got 4th. Someday we will sweep it all... (the past 2 years, our boys and girls have both won XC, and girls won track).
That was the 3rd consecutive title for our girls, and for the first time in years, we did not win a single event! Somehow, winning by one point was more exciting than the year we won with 160 something points
But enough rambling about how much my HS team rocks... here are the 1A boys results!

4A girls went about as expected, with the top 4 well ahead of the rest. I know Doria did not do as well as expected, but she'll be the top returner next year. Stevie set a meet record
