Anyone know any good trampoline drills?
I recently got a trampoline and have been making stuff up...but it would be nice to actually know what I am doing.
I have been jumping into the air
then rocking back/bringing legs in twords my chest,
landing on my shoulders looking twords the sky
extending my legs straight up into the air while rotating
until I am looking down at the surface of the trampoline (perpendicular to the trampoline) with my feet still above my head.
Then I rotate and fall onto my back.
It feels right, and I am pretty proud of it, but I am just a kid bouncing on a trampoline (I do this with a peice of pvc pipe the length of my grip).
Any suggestions?

It deffinitly builds the muscle groups you want for explosions, but im not so sure landing on your shoulders and shooting up is right, unless your hips are over your shoulders, since thats what you want to simulate. What ive been doing is jumping in the air, and swinging my trail leg as fast as i can, to try to carry me into a backflip. If you can do a backflip, you should try this. Basically its like a delayed backflip.... go up into the air, leaning as much as you would to land on your back, then swing your trail leg straight to your face, and try to carry enough energy to swing you around to land on your feet. Its a lot of fun too!!

yea, i wish i could take a video of it for you. Ok you jump in the air in a split position, with enough spin to land on your back, but then wait as long as you can and get the trail leg really far back. Then swing it so you are in a diver's pike, and you should start spinning until you are all the way around, then land on your feet. To make it even better, when you are upside and your feet are coming over your head, open up and pretend you are clearing a bar, turn your thumbs inside and see how high of a bar you can imaginarily clear :-P.climbingmandan wrote:vault3rb0y wrote: Basically its like a delayed backflip....

One good drill is to get a bungi and suspend it over the tramp bed, start close to the bungi. Perform a back drop into a back roll over, so your legs go over the bunji first, this is able to simulate the peak of the jump, and you are able to reproduce this many times over... If it’s getting too easy for you, raise the bungi so you have to invert longer/better....
But over all I would agree with Saraf, anything on the trampoline is useful. In PV knowing where your body is so crucial, and learning how to twist to safety is a must for any vaulter, because landing on your feet or your head is never an option.
