The website to register for the San Marcos River Vault is up and running: http://www.elitesportz.com/sm/sanmarcos.aspx

To register from the website:

Step 1) Under "Entry Fee" click "Add to Cart" and another window will open on your screen in PayPal - check and adjust the quantities if needed

Step 2) If you wish to purchase a t-shirt in advance, click on "Continue Shopping" on the PayPal screen - you will be redirected back to the River Vault website - choose a t-shirt size from the pull down menu, then click on "Add to Cart" - you'll be redirected back to PayPal

Step 3) Verify your quantities on PayPal for both the Entry Fee and T-Shirts, then click "Proceed to Checkout" - If you currently have a PayPal account, you'll be prompted to login, then pay with your credit card - if not, you can set up an account in minutes and then pay.

Step 4) On the River Vault website, first determine which division you choose to jump in, then click on the link under Step 2, and fill out the registration form. A confirmation email will be sent to you.

Divisions and Times: Instead of dividing up the groups by age, gender, and ability level, we decided to simplify things by offering 6 divisions sorted by opening heights. You register for whatever division is right at or slightly under your desired opening height. Males and females, old and young of similar ability will all jump together. The opening heights are 5'0, 7'0, 9'0, 11'0, 13'0, 15'0. Please maintain integrity when registering by not entering in a division well below your height potential. If you're a current 12'6 vaulter, you should not register in the 9'0 opening or below divisions.

10am

Pit 1 - Sub-Expert - Opening 13'0

Pit 2 - Novice - Opening 7'0

1pm

Pit 1 - Expert - Opening 15'0

Pit 2 - Sub-Intermediate - Opening 9'0

4pm

Pit 1 - Intermediate - Opening 11'0

Pit 2 - Sub-Novice - Opening 5'0

Directions to the park:
From I35, take Exit 206 (Aquarena Springs Drive) and follow Aquarena west past Bobcat Stadium. Park in the big lot immediately on your left past the stadium. The park is a little further down Aquarena on the other side of Strahan Coliseum, but there is no parking close by.

Lodging: At this late date and given the nature of San Marcos being a tourist-town with our river and Outlet Malls, lodging will be difficult to find. Therefore, we make no recommendations except that you might have better luck finding hotel rooms in Austin (25 minutes north) or San Antonio (45 minutes south).

Items to Bring: Water Bottles (water will be provided), lawn chairs or blankets, umbrellas, sunscreen, insect repellant, swimsuits and towels, canoes, tubes, YOUR POLES

Rules: No alcoholic beverages. No pets. No unsupervised children. Please refrain from using profanity. Unsafe vaulters will be cautioned to make adjustments and subject to disqualification at the discretion of the meet organizers and officials.

All vaulters and parents/guardians of vaulters will be required to sign a waiver.

Must have proof of 2006 USATF Membership - apply online at www.usatf.org/membership

Fees:
$15.00 by June 28
$30.00 after June 28
Day of meet entries accepted for $30.00
T-Shirts available for purchase for $15.00 at the meet
Pre-orders accepted via PayPal
Deadline for online registration is June 28. After this date all registrations will be LATE and charged $30. Late registrations will only be accepted if space allows.

If you have any questions about the event, email Kris at kris@lonestarpv.com

We look forward to seeing you there!

We have attended this competition for the past two years. Great location with the river running right next to it. Lots of giant shade trees, great vaulters and people spectating. Well worth the trip. Don't miss this one!

www.sanmarcosrivervault.com

"Come enjoy the water of the beautiful San Marcos River while watching these phenomenal athletes enjoy time in the air alongside it!

Location
Sewell Park on the Texas State University Campus

The Event
A pole vaulting competition for all ages and abilities on the banks of the beautiful San Marcos River amidst sunbathers, tubers, and Frisbee enthusiasts. Also featured will be our "High School Elite" competition, putting some of Texas' and surrounding areas' best girls and boys head-to-head in an exciting showdown.

The Venue
"Sewell Park is one of the most inviting and relaxing spaces on the Texas State Campus. The spring fed crystal clear San Marcos River runs through the park and remains 72 degrees year round. You can relax outdoors while taking advantage of two sand volleyball courts, open spaces for Frisbee, an outdoor basketball court, and grills and picnic tables great for cookouts. Volunteers
This event takes a lot of hard work since we have to set up 2 complete 100'+ board runways, 2 pits and sets of standards, tents, p.a. system, etc... as well as have people to put the bar up and set standards. We will be setting up on June 1st in the afternoon, and tearing down immediately following the last competition on Saturday, June 2nd. If anyone will be in the area and willing to help, please email me at kris@lonestarpv.com and let me know. Thanks!

Sponsorship
Our Emerging Elite Field will include over five 18'0+ male vaulters and over five 13'0+ females. These post-collegiate athletes are all training hard to try to make the 2008 Olympic Team. Competitions like the River Vault offer prize money to the top finishers to help fund their training, travel, and living expenses. If you are interested in sponsoring our event by donating prize money, or helping to solicit sponsorship, please email me asap. Our sponsorship levels are:
PLATINUM - $1000+ donation - includes one 3' x 8' and one 1' x 3' banner with company name and info. displayed at the event, an ad on our website which will be emailed to over 1000 recipients, a large ad on our 150+ t-shirts, maps to your business location distributed at check-in, and verbal promotions over the P.A. system throughout the event.
GOLD - $500-$999 - includes one 1' x 3' banner, website ad, a medium t-shirt ad, map distribution, and verbal promotion
SILVER - $100-$499 - includes website ad, a small t-shirt ad, maps, and verbal promotion
BRONZE - Under $100 - includes website ad, maps, and verbal promotions

Pole Raffle - We will be selling raffle tickets at $15.00 each for the chance to win an Essx pole of your choice up to 15' long. Other prizes will include a Skypole pole bag, Beginner-to-Bubka supplement DVDs, hats, shirts, and pole tips. Proceeds will go towards the 2008 River Vault. You can buy raffle tickets while registering at PayPal or on the day of the event.

Directions
Take Exit 206 (Aquarena Springs Drive) off of IH35 and proceed West on Aquarena Springs Drive for approximately 1.5 miles. Park in the large lot on the left at the corner of Aquarena and Charles Austin Drive in front of Strahan Coliseum. Walk the sidewalk past Strahan and you are at Sewell Park. If you are using an online map or navigation system, program the following address: 601 University Dr, San Marcos, TX 78666

I hope to see all of you there. This will be the biggest and best River Vault to date!

For the parents:

GREAT OUTLET MALL

Over 200 shops, and many actually have outlet prices!

I was just there this past weekend.
