Tommy Skipper is definetly blessed with natural talent as well as a great build for the vault. If anyone in college at this time can go 6m it is definetely him. while there are quite a few vaulters in HS coming up right now that are doing amazing, like spencer mccorkel, they are not to his level yet. For the sake of the USA lets hope he does go 6m then mroe so we can get that record in the US.

Yea and to comment on the person that said they watched the whole thing on CBS and nothing was on about that vault, that made me very upset lol. while it was cool watchin xavier win just about every event on the track, i would of much rather watched the vault, which as im sure no one will argue with me about, is BY FAR the best even!!!!

Sorry... Although Tommy is an amazing athlete, and can apparently bomb bars, calling him the next Bubka would be somewhat of a disgrace to the Bubka name... Bubka reinvented interest worldwide in the sport of vaulting... Heck, I would venture to say that, as far as technique is concerned, he reinvented the sport... Now, do I think that TS is capable of taking down the college record?? I think he is 100% able... But lets not compare him to the greatest vaulter that ever lived (you can quote me on that) until he at least jumps 5.90...
4.75... Write THAT down...

i would say anyone who can start at 5.80 and make it has a chance, but he's gotta quit throwing that head back before he breaks the ncaa record :P
On a whole new level 6-20-09

More like over 6 meters 30-odd times.

I didnt mean as in "bubka reincarnated"...but he surely is close to become as dominant.

I would agree if he would have jumped 19' more than once this year... Doing what you need to get by isnt dominating, putting up 19' every meet when others are only jumping 17'-18' is domination. In any given meet someone could put up a higher bar than TS, i.e. Robbie Pratt. I want to see some consistency at 19' before I become a believer... And please dont give me the "lack of competition" excuse, because true competitors can push themselves to their fullest potential without any other influences...
