FSU's Janson sets NCAA record in pole vault
DEMOCRAT STAFF REPORT
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Florida State's Lacy Janson became just the second woman in NCAA history to clear the 15-foot mark in the pole vault, breaking the national record in the pole vault on Thursday at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Janson's mark of 15- 1/4 bests the vault of UCLA's Chelsea Johnson (15-foot) in 2004. Janson, a five-time All-American, set the school record just two weeks ago in the Texas Relays (14-7 1/4 ).
She is the only woman in league history to win four indoor and outdoor pole vault titles.
Lacy Janson breaks NCAA record 4.58 (15-0.25)

yeah she was cruisin all day. really looking great on the runway.
pole was a 14'7 180. the amazing thing is her first attempt had massive height, but she actually came down on it a bit
4.58 clear still had the standards at 80, and wasn't even her best technical jump of the day. much more to come from her

"good technique" & "Lacy Janson" should NOT be used in the same sentence...
That said, if she develops average technique, she'll vault 17'. absolutely the most raw potential/talent of any female to pick up a pole.

Any idea how high she was holding? It looks like ~14-0 from the video.

Lacy is actually 5'10" tall, but she is smoking fast on the runway. She beat me in a 100m dash, but I suck at running!
