Bubka coming out of retirement!

Unread postby ashcraftpv » Sat Apr 01, 2006 5:59 pm

(AP story) by Jasonne Hinkinovich

(Monaco) - All time pole vaulting great Sergei Bubka has indicated that he may be coming out of retirement for the 2006 season. "Elite pole vaulters in this day are too soft. No is jumping near 6 metres anymore. I am healthy for the first time in years and feel like I am strong enough to compete again."

This is shocking news from the current world record holder and five time world champion. He was seen recently training at a local facility.

"No one is innovating in this sport anymore. Soon the Women will be jumping higher than the men at the rate they are going. I must bring some respectibility back to the sport of pole vaulting."

Many of the elite vaulters we talked to following Bubka's statements were surprised, with one stating, "Is this some kind of joke or something?"

Anytime you have a special report from Jasonne Hinkinovich you should see red flags!
Pole Vaulting isn't a sport. It's a lifestyle.

He had an Akiliese (spelling?) problem, or something like that.

He hung on about 4 years too long.
