Spring Break in LA?

Unread postby PVMD2B » Sun Feb 19, 2006 10:26 pm

Hello West Coasters...

Im a Pennsylvania girl likely coming west for spring break.
Any info you wanna share about the amazing Cali I hear so
much about but have not been to in over a decade? :P

Good place to spend a week? I'm thinking LA? Biking, beach,
anything not to be missed?

Thanks for any input...
Laura

If you wanna jump, come on up to Sacramento. Your poles are already here . . .

I think a day in one of many cool beach communities is in order, like Laguna Beach, Manhattan Beach, Venice Beach or Newport Beach . . .

Go visit Tito and Amy in San Diego!

You interviewing or something?

I don't think you want to visit Manhattan Beach this season, bacteria levels are way too high.

No interviewing for me yet Wilson...
I am just a lowly 2nd year. ;)
Maybe next year tho i'll come out
and do an elective rotation, maybe HI!
PS. What were you doing in the EAST?

BUT, i do have 10-ish days to play with
and am trying to go somewhere i've not
ever been and someplace warmer that PHILLY!

Still up in the air.

PS. What is this about
bacteria levels? Am I back in micro lab? :dazed:
(Treponema pallidum?!) I think
you could find that in LA

Our international academy meetings were in Atlanta. The Saturday after they ended, I attended the Black Colleges All American awards banquet with my high school pole vaulting team mate, Nesby Glasgow, who played 16 years in the NFL and who is on the board even though he didn't attend a traditionally black college. I had a blast sitting at the same table as Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Nesby and Dexter McCleon. After the banquet I met Doug Williams and Ricky Upchurch, who is now the football and track coach at a high school in Eagle, CO.

The next day I went on the day trip to Akron to watch the Big East meet.

Wow, sounds like a great trip Wilson!
I want to be traveling around as much
as you do!
So, we'll see about the Cali thing. No
set plans, I need to fly south for the
winter ;) I think I get S.A.D. in the
dark winter months. I'll let you know
if i find myself out your way.

Unfortunately I have little say in our
third year schedule. I get thrown into
a lottery... not good odds of CA ;)

PS. I dont know PERSONALLY about
T. pallidum... I just learned about it. :D

No Wilson, I'm an open book and there is no chapter
on Trep here. :) I DID pick up some RINGWORM in Jonesboro
though! Watch out for those green turf runways! I learned
they are NOT such a good place to stretch!
Earl asked me if i was stabbed by a pole! Perfect red, raised
circle on the back of my thigh. HaHa... too much infO? eeeww.

Well, I will let you know if I get out to Cali. I am pretty disappointed
about the LACK of info coming through this CA link! My friend lives in
San Diego so.. I may have to go further south than LA ;)

Take care!
Laura

ok, so as a moderator for the california board, i apologize for not putting my info on cali for ya.... :o

i'm in the southern area.. i hate to say it but yes i do live in " the oc" that is Orange COunty, just south of LA.. " The REAL CA...haha" ( take that wilson!!) :P

spring break time it isnt always the BEST weather... but its nicer then PA i'm sure... the ocean water is still kind of cold, but there are waves to be surfed!! plenty of places to rent surfboards or boogie boards for your beach going needs....

plenty of stuff to do... any other questions feel free to ask... :D
