Beginner to Bubka DVD almost ready!

Unread postby altius » Mon Nov 07, 2005 2:51 am

The DVD to complEment -note complEment - NOT replace "Beginner to Bubka" goes to the production unit tomorrow. It will be approximately 65 minutes long and follows the format of the book pretty closely. What readers of BTB may find especially interesting are the videos of complete jumps by seven of the eight Adelaide athletes shown in BTB, and that they, along with Bubka, are used to clarify the technical model.

If Sean Brown thinks it passes muster it will be available before too long -he will determine the price BUT I believe that it should not be bought as a substitute for BTB ---- unless you can produce a certificate saying you cant read -even then the information provided along with the clips is in written form so you may be stuffed anyway. ;)

At Reno I will probably expect you to pass a quiz on Beginner to Bubka before you can get the DVD on its own. Or - bring your copy along as evidence -and to get it autographed -although unfortunately MY autograph will not add value to the book. :crying:

Any chance on an all Bubka DVD in the future? I have always used his technique as my perfect vault example, yet his footage and photos are not easy to come by. I would think with his name, status, celebrity he could cash in and help the vault community at the same time. Does he need a better agent? Sergei, I'm available if you're interested!

I spent a lot of time working my way through the dvd yesterday. Although it has no audio (which is fine for an old-timer like me...but maybe the younger crowd will get restless?), the video presentations and text are terrific. I recommend it.
