Yes, I too plan to vault there in the 60-64 M age group
does anyone have any wisdom about how to store poles
while at the meet and or at the hotel?
I'm looking forward to meeting a some of you "masters" vaulters
I've been reading about for a year and a half.
I vault at 3:15 on Friday--

Vaulting prof,
I made an inquiry about pole storage and was told the track would be open (for access, not necessarily to become familiar with the runway) on Thursday evening, and that poles could be stored there Thursday and Friday nights. Also, I have been told that you can take poles on the shuttle bus/van that will take athletes from the Marriott to the track. That could allow you to avoid dealing with poles at the hotel.
This competition will be my first in the 60-64 age group so we will be jumping in the same group.

I'm looking forward to meeting all the Masters In Boston. BTW $129.00 for the Marriott is fantastic. This is one expensive place.

I usually call the meet hotel and ask about their shuttle, explaining that I have poles. Their rate us usually cheaper if they charge at all. If they can't accomodate they refer you to some one who will. Just bring bungees. It's cheaper than a rental car this way. Hope this helps! Bubba
PS - Let me know what you find out as I'm leaning toward going too. Take care. Bubba

Poles to Hotel
When I flew to Indianapolis last year with my son for the J.O's we took bungees. I went to the taxi line and asked for a van with a rack. It was no problem.

When I asked the hotel, they said they did not have a shuttle. They told me to call JC Transportation 1-800-517-2281. Or look on the web at http://www.jctransportationshuttle.com/
I did not talk to JC Trans to ask if they can carry poles.
I did write to the meet "info" email address and the response I got was
From the hotel, the shuttle busses have been able to take poles to the facility, but you have to get them to the Marriott. Most downtown hotels don't provide shuttle service from the airport.
Sorry this response does not provide a solution, but hopefully it shares some information.

I just wanted to wish all my master vaulter brothers that will be competing at the indoor nationals, GOOD LUCK.
I hope you all jump great and get season PR's. Even though I am vaulting better this year than last year I will not beable to defend my title.
I just got on board with On Track with Ron Morris which is a great thing for me and for the next couple of months I have to concentrate on getting things going for Ron and Since I have lots of local meets to jump at with my Junior College kids I will just have to focus in on that.
I will be watching for all of you to getting it on in Boston.
