Hey Hunter...this is the Washington forum. You're from the Fort, so I'll let it slide. :P

My goal for the season is to have a state champion and to take atleast 2 guys and 2 girls to the state meet this year.

I'll be moving back to WA this summer, and coaching at King's next year. We're moving back down to 1A after this year, so watch out there are going to be some good pole vaulters in the future.

So if you are going to have a state champion, he can't break his hand at the end of the season again huh?

I am also glad to see that there will be another certified coach in the cascade conference. I coach at Cedarcrest and last I checked I was the only certified pole vault coach in the league.

Anyway, I hope to take 1 boy and 2 girls to state this year. I also think things will be much easier for us when we are 2a in 2007, looking forward to potential state champions in boys and girls that season.

I was thinking the same thing. There are a lot of good vault schools droping down to 2a. Our district may get easier but i don't think it will by much. The only good vault school we are losing is Squalicum, Sehome and I believe Bellingham are droping down and we will be picking up Mt. baker and nooksack(sp?) who all hav e vaulters train with Dick Henery. I bet we will still have to vault the state auto mark often to get out of districts  IT just dosn't seem right that you have to leave a 14' boys and 10'+girls sit home when there are 12'6" and 9'6"vaults that make it to state from other districts.

Oh yeah I just thought of another goal I'm going to my pole ordered now so I don't end up waiting 1 1/2 months for them

so there are 3 people in the state that have a goal? All of which are coaches? What about athletes, any of them have a goal for this season?

Yeah, we got the injury out of the way at the beginning of the season this year. He tweaked his knee during wrestling practice, but neglected to tell me his MRI came back with a torn ACL, so he's going to pretty much miss the first month of the season. You'd have thought he learned his lesson last year when he fractured his ankle in a wreslting match. go figure...
