Glass's Daniel Inge placed fifth in the pole vault by clearing 12-6 without a miss, but couldn't get over 13 feet.

"This was a good meet with 20 kids clearing 12 feet and above," Glass pole vaulting coach David Inge said.

Heritage's Stephen Thomas and Jefferson Forest's Matt Smith also cleared 12-6, but tied for sixth because they had more misses than Inge.

On Friday, JF's Suzy Lipscomb and the Hilltoppers' Shrhonda Ross each cleared 9-0, with Lipscomb taking second, Ross third and Glass's Lauren Mawn (8-6) finishing fourth.

Irvington got the same kind of standout individual performance from Scott DiCesare, who won the triple jump in a Section 1-leading 46 feet, 3 1/2 inches. DiCesare also won the 55 in 6.71, just ahead of Fiffi Johnson of Lincoln (6.72), and then won the pole vault at 14-6.

His twin brother, Casey, also cleared 14-6 but placed second on misses. He finished third in the triple jump and won the long jump at 21-9.

Teammate Tyrik Overton won the high jump at 6-2 and placed second in the long jump at 21-8. Casey DiCesare and Overton now have the top two long jumps in Section 1.

The Website says that he cleared 16'5", this is incorrect. He did attempt it after he cleared 15'6" but did not clear any of his attempts.
