it's nuts to think something like that could happen. alot of people at my school that try vaulting fail because they are afraid. that's one thing going for me...i'm nuts. last year i jumped on a rocket intermediate pole that shouldve been retired a few years ago...you hear it cracking as it unbends and bends...then this year i jumped on it again for 2 meets while my pole was coming in...it's like it's not normal that i haven't broken it yet

Your crazy man! I just broke my first pole last week. (a 14' 150) Unfortunately i needed stitches and got a fracture in my hand. Any ideas on what i should be doing besides running and working my legs to keep training?

I love pole vaulting, and I've broken a pole, but that's about my only fear - breaking it while you're shooting and getting speared. Fortunately, I don't think it's ever happened so I'm not too worried.

I tried to look at the link and got an error message. Sounds like others are not having this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

Doesn't work for me either... the original post is from last March though. Must be a bad link now.
