Da Box!

No, not the one you plant into.

I'm talking about my 8th grader (soon to be a freshman) Kaylea Box from New Braunfels, TX. She jumped a PR 11'0 today to take 3rd in the Intermediate Girls Division at the AAU Jr Olympics in New Orleans. Kaylea is a runt, around 5'3 and maybe 100lbs, jumping on an Essx 12'4 123 gripping 11'9 from 14 steps. She is the slowest girl in my club, but has the hardest work ethic (tied with LoKo on that!) By FAR the best takeoff of anyone I coach (all 90+ vaulters!). Way to go Kaylea!

she may be slow but she her approach mechanics are better than probably 90% of all high schoolers.
