Looks like she came in at 4.65 then after a 3rd attempt make she moved right to 4.95 for a second attempt make.
She is talking about breaking the record 36 times to break Bubka's mark. I don't know but it seems like she looks to other things for motivation than everyone else.
New WR For Isinbayeva - 4.95!
I have some questions:
1. What pole was she on? Make, length, weight, flex?
2. How high did she hold (or how far from the top of the pole)?
3. What's her effective push-off when she makes 5 meters? Is she the best at that? (duh!)
4. What was Bubka's best push-off? Was he the best? (duh!)
Who has the inside scoop here?

the pole was a spirit.... 445m/14'7"
she was gripping the top
steve c. probaly has the flex if needed.
the height above grip is relitive to a good swing..not strength of the pole..
strength of the pole(flex) is relative to the speed, weight and plant technique of the vaulter

Pole vault phenomenon Yelena Isinbayeva comes to DN Galan with two goals; to better her own world record and with that receive a 1-carat diamond valued at 10 000 US dollars for a new Stadium record. Fellow Russian Svetlana Feofanova's 4.78 from 2002 is undoubtedly in the danger zone. Isinbayeva has bettered the world record fifteen times, six of them in her last eight competitions.
