Beach vault... literally

Unread postby LHSpolevault » Mon Jul 11, 2005 11:29 pm

I haven't tried it yet, and am wondering if the pole would slip out when planted into the sand in the water of a pond/lake? I know it doesn't slip if you jump off a dock. But just running on the beach then planting??? Anybody know? Thanks.

There used to be a great pv website called "Achtung, Stabhochsprung!" which had an entire section dedicated to French vaulting. There were some photos of some French guys vaulting in some dunes on a beach, just planting into the sand and bending some really small looking training poles.

on neo vault theres a video of a guy, Pat Manson, where he runs off the dock and plants the pole into the water, bends it, rocks back and then pushes off and lands in the water. it looks like so much fun, im going to giver a try at my own beach. go here to check it out, looks sweeeeet.

I was watchin that a couple days ago, got the "running off the dock" idea from it. I can't find any docks around here :-\ that aren't private where I wouldnt get arrested.

I guess Romain Mesnil is a PVPower lurker. He forwarded me two more beach pictures and verified that they run in the water. He also said he'd send me some "urban vaulting" videos to post.
