For the bigger meets of the season I came in at 13'6" while the rest of the vaulters (25+) went from opening height of maybe 9' and progressed to the highest height of 13' or 13'6". This would take around 3 hours so I would have to warm up to use the pit in the beginning and then warm up a second time before I jumped. This was really bothersome to me and I'm almost positive it affected the way I jumped. :\

My warm ups usually are usually 2 sets of everything im gonna list at a distance of about 85 feet.
Stiff leg bounces focusing on dorcil flex in the legs and not kicking the feet out infront or back more than half a foot.
Stiff leg bounces with right leg fast cycle through ever 2 hits
Same as before only with left leg
Alternating legs ever two hits still with the stiff leg bounces.
then these bunny rabbit things starting with your usual lead leg foreward but jumping only off your toes. Arms in the air like you were planting, then bounce and on each bounce focus on extending your body as much as possible.
repeat with opposite leg foreward.
Then 3 step take off jumps focusing on long trail leg, high drive knee, and high plant.
then sprints into the pit if you can for a nice padded stopper.
Then the basic three step pole drills into the pit.
