I really thought I was on the path to having an outstanding season....Then I seperate my left shoulder on Sat playing capture the flag with a bunch of HS kids

Looks like most of my summer is going to be sitting on the side lines :(

Wow. Sorry to learn of that. That's a real bummer and it didn't even happen while vaulting! :(

Oh Robert! I can't tell you how bummed out I am for you. Here I am just getting back to it, hoping that I can just make an opening height this Sunday. You're waaaaaaaaay past there and now you have to sit out because of an injury. Somehow it "don't seem right". I guess the only question left for you to answer now is.............................................did your team win? (Lie to us if it didn't). Take care and good luck with the PT. Later...........Mike

That sucks! Is that why you weren't at the meet Monday?

I know the feeling. I broke my ankle April 17 pulling the cover off my pit. I fell over backward with my foot in the wrong position - I knew I was in trouble as I was falling but I couldn't move my foot. I have a metal plate now and some screws.

I started running very slowly late last week...I am hoping to catch a meet or two at the end of July. But, my plans for a good summer to try out some new stuff are pretty much shot.

At least I was doing something related to PV - but you were actually doing something more than just standing there.

Robert,

I'm very, very sorry to hear about your shoulder.

About 10 years ago I tore up my knee while kicking a soccer ball in my back yard with my daughter. There is a reason that in professional basketball and baseball players' contract they forbid them to do other sports in the offseason.

I hope that it mends sooner than expected. I hope that you are still able to run and work on other aspects of vaulting.

Robert
Sorry to hear about your injury. It really does suck to get old but hang in there and you will be back before you know it and I have always followed the blessing in disquise path and perhaps you can focus on some other weak point in your vaulting so that when your shoulder gets better you will be better than ever. good luck
