Well, this is what dyestatcal has:

http://www.dyestatcal.com/

Granite Bay junior Scott Roth cleared a lifetime-best 17-01
to set boys' age-16 national pole vault record and equal #5 in
California prep history (and best in 8 years), regardless of class!
National age-16 all-time list
1. Scott Roth (Granite Bay HS, CA) 17-01.00 2005
2. Jayson Lavender (Wichita Falls HS, TX) 17-00.75 1988

Jacob Davis actually cleared 17-6 as a 15-year-old, but did not approach that as a 16-year-old. Lavender had the standard for 16-year-olds, until Scott Roth broke it last night. The local paper listed it as an under-17 national record, which was also correct. It is a national record for 16-year-olds, however. Scott turns 17 in late June and plans to do Golden West, Junior Nationals and the World Youth meet in Morocco this summer.

By the way, the kid from Argentina (German C.) had very good form on video I saw of him last year. If I find it again, I'll post it.

Made a huge typo above. It shpould have read "The local paper listed it as an age 17-and-under national record, which was incorrect."

Sorry, but can't find the footage on German.

Davis did jump 17' as a JR & 17'3" as a SR (no idea when that 17'3" mark was as a SR...if it was the state meet he was already 18) so that Lavender mark was outdated. Either way Roth still got it with 17'1".

If one stops the video in the wrong place it would be easy to wonder if Scott had his hand on the bar. I can assure everyone that his hands were nowhere near the bar as I was that tired-looking official monitoring such stuff. That white flag Scott is holding in the Dyestat picture is the very flag that I used for his big jump. We three officials autographed it and gave it to him after the meet.

Good thing Ed Seese changed the pegs to high school pegs. No way that bar would have stayed up with the college pegs. When Scott hit the bar, it moved about 1 1/2 inches.

Yeah when you frame by frame the video, you see the bar about 3 inches in the air above the pegs after he brushes it but landed back on.. awsome jump though
What have you done today to get better?
