why would you want to? it detracts the mind from the situation at hand, because you're basically multitasking.

chewing gum while trying to vault throws me off so much. i'd have to chew with the rhythm of my steps which would be way too distracting and complicated. it's easier to just throw it out.

I can't function without gum in my mouth. Sometimes I fall asleep with it in there, then when I wake up from my little nap I can start chewing it again.
