I've jumped on pacer, spirit, and the new pacer carbons and feel the carbons would be a great pole for someone with a wickedly quick swing leg. I on the other hand have a long straight swing and take more time getting inverted. My timing is better suited to the spirit which is slower bending and unbending with all the power of the pacer. The pacers seem to unbend to quickly causing my vault to be less than vertical. Timing the pull turn and shoot on a spirit seems much easier to me. Also they seem to have a more consistent bend to them. No surprises. I'll keep my spirits.

I concur with what you have found out using carbon to speed the pole up does nothing for the vaulter, we use carbon in a spiral so the pole bends over like a spring and comes back normal

hmmm this is true the pacer carbons have a whole differtn timing to them. but i acctually perfer them

I prefer the carbons for that exact reason. I just got 2 new ones, I used to jump on NOTHING but spirits (and the occasional essx), but my technique progressed and then it seemed like i was upsidedown forever waiting for the pole to unbend (i have a crazy fast swing), and found the carbons fit my timeing perfectly.
the spirits are excellent poles though and i love them, the carbons just suite my timing better.

They will if you request one, but I don't think they stock them.

Does anyone have any experience with them (15'6")? You know, bends like a 16' but has that 15' feeling...stuff like that?

just switched over from a 14' 155 spirit....loved it now i'm on a 14-6 160 carbonfx...love that too.. i think i just love pole vaulting. i feel that i need to concentrate more on swing through on the carbon though, my top is strong and bottom is week so the quickness of the pole feels good after i'm inverted...love spirit poles too though carbons are lighter tho

I've had too many bad experiences with Pacers. I saw a few blow up in practice during college b/c of my teammates. I myself have broken two 5m Pacers in row at a meet, my right had was so swelled afterwards.

I'm too set in my ways to try any other brand, although the 15'6" Essx look interesting.

We make ESSX in 15', and in 15'9" FYI
Yes a carbon pole can generate a lot of energy if one is using the carbon to make the pole return fast.
