Someone told me once that the Jersey Indoor state record is 17'10" but i think that is higher than the current indoor national record, the guys name was billy lange. If anyone knows anything about this I would love to hear more about it.

billy lange is the youth divison USATF national record holder of 4.28 meeters (14ft and half inch) I hope to break it this year thoe

Delawares Boys state record is 14'6 and Girls is 10'9. But the boys record is going to change this year if I have anything to do with it!!!! but DE is small so thats why our PR isnt that high........YET

I think Bill Lange's indoor PR was 17'1 and his outdoor PR was 16'6 in his junior year. Saraf broke the outdoor and all-time NJ record, but Lange still has that indoor record by a nice margin (6-8 inches i believe)

I know that the indoor jump was during his senor year, he stoped compeating. I think he got hurt or just lost interest, ive talked to some guys that knew him during high school forgot what they said exactly. If its 17'1" thats still a crazy for that time peroid.

Oklahoma's state record is 17"9 and something Joe Dail is the one who holds it.

Michigan's state Record is 16-6, which is held by Charles DeWildt and Paul Terek from 1997. I went for a new one at 16-7...but wasn't able to. I know weather isn't necessarily the key, but i also don't necessarily think coaching is the key either. I jumped how high I did with my dad coaching me...and he hadn't gotten into the sport until my Freshman year...and he only coached during the summers...

I do think that for the most part coaching is a key, but i also think putting a good athlete on the runway is key!
