QUAD VAULT!!!!

Unread postby bjvando » Thu Feb 17, 2005 10:03 pm

Just wanted to announce that the official 2005 Cal State Fullerton Quad vault is just about in full effect!!!

What is a quad vault you ask?

Well, at our school everyone ignores track, until NOW! What we plan on doing ( paper-work still permitting) is to take out wood runway we built thsi year, take it into the middle of the quad at school, where everyone walks between classes ( smaller campus) and vault!!

The runway will be set up just slightly downhill, so we'll be brining some speed and putting on a show!!!

the purpose is to generate interest into track and field, especially POLE VAULT!! I think Giovanni Lanara- Olympic team member (Mexico) and school record holder will jump a little bit, as well as all the fullerton vaulters.

It is supposed to be on March 8th from 12-1 p.m. There will be music and autograph's during the whole comp. If your around that area come check it out, it's going to be freakin sweet!!!

anyone else done someting like this???? ( ok i'm done, thanks for reading)

Buller did this at McNeese last year I believe.

yeah shawn, and we are doing it again this year for spring fling in the quad. The only trouble that we got into, was that the student body skipped class when we were jumping.

Have fun at cal-Ful

That is awesome...I'd love to have done that at college. Yea, it sucks how no one comes to watch...

I'd LOVE to do this here at Worcester State. what would we need to do to try to set up one of these things?

We had to go through a lot of steps to do it. Your coach would probably have to talk to the Athletic Director first, then the lawyers of the school and the administration.

Lots of paper work was involved, but it should be worth it.
