It is defineltly up there in the top. But the Sac-Joaquin Section might be the toughest. I'm glad i live in Nor Cal and part of North Coast Section. All the competition is gone this year, which gives me a better chance!
There is no secret to jumping high...It just takes hard work.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with the Sac-Joaquin Section too. I am probably partial to it because I compete in it, but....

We have the top two returning vaulters in the nation who are both juniors:

16-06.00 *Ryan Shuler (Granite Bay)
16-04.00 *Scott Roth (Granite Bay)

Two fifteen-footers:
15-03.75 -Kelly McGrath (Jesuit) <--thats me! O:-) :(
15-00.25 -Daniel Byrne (Vacaville)

4 out of the top 10 in state returning this year make it pretty tough.

But don't let me take anything away from anyone else. The southern section is good as well with two juniors this year:

15-06.00 *Greg Woepse (Mater Dei)
15-00.00 *Miles McDowell (Murrieta Valley)

Plus you've got the two studs from San Diego Section
16-02.00 -Derek Scott (El Camino) <----#3 in the nation
15-06.00 -Scott Finley (Granite Hills)

All around, California is just a tough state this year, I've done my research ;) Thanks to the great site run by John Dye, Rich Gonzalez, Doug Speck.

For the girls, I would definately have to say the Southern Section is the toughest.

6 of the top 10 from California are from the Southeren Section!

California is a crazy state to be competing in...but that makes the State competition so amazing to see. Can't wait!

i think california is deff up there, for girls california is the top place to be.....but for guys, i'd say texas has been pretty strong holding for awhile, california is tuff too, not to degrade us, since i'm from california....but i don't think the southern section is the toughest place to vault in the nation
