oh, another thought...

i heard somewhere that division 1 schools required an athlete to be at least 5'9" tall that is why i vault d3

but seriously why wouldnt you want to compete. competition is where you really test your skills as a vaulter plus it is tons of fun. try to go somewhere wher you will get opportunities for competition

I don't think that is true because Arkansas has had a couple of guy vaulters that I don't think are even 5'9"......
That's Jodie!!

A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....

Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

Go to a college that its track coach will let you go to the Pole Vault Summit on the school's money! That should be a deciding factor :yes: .

Go where you think the team and the environment will keep you happy.

If you are injured or miss out because of school, will you still like it there?
Is there a team of vaulters or just a few?
Do you want to enjoy the full college experience-travel, big meets,etc?
Do you ant a large school or a small school?
Some schools don't value pole vault as much as others- not enough points.
Some only offer partial scholarships unless you do multis.

Finally - can you learn from the coaches. Some places have great coaches, but if you aren't 1 or 2, you get very little time.
