when your license plate says vaulter on it...
Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali

Talent in cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.

I've taken a couple thousand pole vaulting pictures of my own in the past few years, so if I was going to go to the effort of changing pictures, I would just use mine.

When you're on the planning committee for your classes 35th year reunion, haven't pole vaulted in 24 years, building a mold in your garage to make a fibreglass vault box (and making my wife sick in the meantime from the resin smell) e-mailing Doug Sparks and Kevin Hanson and getting tips on what I need to do to pole vault again, trying to find out how I can make a cloud 9 for my back yard, realizing that the world record for the 50 to 55 year old masters class is 15'1" and wondering "can I do that"? Oh yeah and as someone else said.............doing all of this in December! And last but not least, joining a pole vaulting forum and wondering...."How do they get the pictures put by there names".

Guess I figured out the picture deal, Thanks Becca! By the way that picture was taken in 1968 and to my knowledge is the only picture I know of that exists of me vaulting. Later.........Mike

I've got a few more.

You are also obessed with pole vaulting when:

-You make a soundtrack to the great pole vault dvd's C'Mon! and Bring It!
-You call your friends to talk about pole vaulting
Rely upon God with all your heart, do not rely on your own insight. ~ Proverbs 3:5
