back pain
back pain
my backs been really tight lately, especially after running for a period of time... do i apply ice or heat?

try to heat for rougly 15 minutes before practice and make sure to stretch, and after practice always apply ice. You definitely don't want to go to heating after you work that muscle group. Stick with heat before, ice after, and ice again even later that night after practice.

Last year at take off I got ripped really hard and over arched my back and in the process I pulled all of the supporting muscles and strained the ligaments and tendents across my back and mainly my spine. I took one whole week off of doing nothing but stretching, heating, and Icing. My muscles took 4 weeks to heal but the ligaments across my spine took all season and into a good part of the summer. So I found that just being cautious of what you do and making sure to strech EXTREMELY well before and after you vault. But only time will make it heal bud. so be careful with it.
