i suggest going to this, even if you dont know how to surf, its an AWESOME time.... it is SOOO much fun.

can I ask why this isn't held in the summer when people aren't constrained by schools? I would love to be there. Maybe late june/early july would be a better time. Granted the surf will be small, but from what i've been seeing lately it doesn't look like it'll be getting to big in cali very soon. Hope y'all have fun! I"m jealous.
its free! we show up typically around 7am, hang out get donuts/coffee. surf most of the day, then the 'awards ceremony' is usually at Sharky's bar/grill.
good times, long day. hopefully weather and waves cooperate. most years have been rather small (1-3' morning, 1-2+ afternoons), except last year was 8-10' walls

there wasn't a lot of waves, but it was an AWESOME time.....maybe another one can be put on in the summer, i'm sure we could get enough So. Cal vaulters that could help out with some lodging for those "out-of-staters"
