Unread postby mdavis2685 » Mon Oct 18, 2004 2:06 pm

i remember anytime i would go to the new york armory me and ian cassidy would go out to the vendors on the street and get a big chicken wrap loaded with a lof of stuff and eat it right before we jumped. it never bothered me but what does everyone eat before they jump or is it nothing?

I eat a ton of food like 3 to 4 hours before I jump. I can eat anything from 2 Whoppers to like 4 pieces of Pizza. I have been trying to change that recently though, I have been trying to eat like Salads and fruit, etc. before I jump. I just make sure I eat enough to have energy to reach for the sky ;)

Two words: Waffle House!!

I eat a waffle house waffle with some bacon and a glass of o.j. for meets that are around the early morning. For later meets, I will eat something that has chicken in it, or i will eat a few slices of pizza.

I woke up very ill one morning before a meet at vandy, so we all went to waffle house for breakfest. about one and a half hours later i cleared 6' in the HJ by at least 6", with my pr being 6'2 (first yeah HJer, 5th or 6th meet). I think i would have pr'd in the vault if it wasn't rained out :crying:

Eating before competing....eh, its risky. Eating at waffle house before a competition, for me personally, stomach suicide. Depending on the competition, I tend to have slight nerves...not extremely bad, however, eating heavy food upsets my balance of things...if you know what I mean. In addition, if I'm going to eat at waffle house, I'm going to want orange juice, and if I get orange juice, I'm going to make my stomach turn flips, and if my stomach turns flips, well then who knows how well I'll do.
Funny thing is, I'd probably PR. Don't you always do well, when you feel the worst? Oh the irony.

Eric
