I agree with Vtech vaulter, Ray Scotten clears 18 this year. Even if he doesn't, he is alway going to be my favorite vaulter after his performance at NC's this year. Count me as a Ray Fan

That brings up the question, where did Scotten end up transferring to? I believe it was between Nebraska and Tennessee.

What about kevin Opalka he jumped 17'6 in january last year and took a shot at 18. He was jumping really well indoors but kinda fell off outdoors (maybe injury?) I think he is very capable of putting some 18 ft jumps together this year!

opalka hurt his ankle last year outdoors....thats that...really tough break for him, but you can definitely count on him for some solid performances this year.
Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali

Talent in cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.

he jumped 5.45, right around 17'11 or so....Trainings been going good for him and Chris Chappel (17'10), so look out for both of them in reno!
