A scripture that makes me think of all you girls and guys pole vaulting....
Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

This event will be a USATF sactioned event thanks to the help of the Indiana Invaders - http://www.indianainvaders.com
The high school vaulter from Missouri would like to thank Pole vault Junkie for putting on this meet. Although it looked like we were not going to be able to vault due to the steady rain we finaly got our chance. This meet was fun, lots of vaulters, and a good atmosphere. Where else could a person learn so much about llamas on a Friday afternoon. lol Thanks for being so patient, Bryan it was well worth the wait and the long drive from Missouri. Thank you and your friends for all the hard work that you did to get ready for this event, It was appreciated. I think I can speak for my son and family, We are certain we WILL be back next year.

Results up tomarrow...........
So heres the story
Got to indy no problem (from Champaign). Into the park by 9:55 thurs evening to set up..........unloaded the runway and started setting up while 4 other took off with the trailer to pick up the pits. Got the runway done in under 45 min..........then waited........and waited........and waited. Well it seems the truck with the trailer got seperated from the pickup that knew how to get to the school with the pit. The pickup was involved in a very minor fender bender.........anyway they get back to the fairgrounds around 12:30am............so we get back to the motel around 1:30 and head straight to Bob Most SR.'s room to cap off the evening around 3am. Well..........8:00 am rolls and we head to Dennys (MMMMM Dennys, what a breakfast) in the rain.............and it ends up raining ALL day. It was unbelievable, almost everone stuck it out.........of course I had no idea how many people were still there. So I let the word out at about 3pm (we had been there since 9:30am) that if it did not stop by 5 it was all over and we would all just go home (except me and my crew who still had to tear down and return the pits and load the runway). Well at 5 it was still misting and I looked at the Dad that drove in from Missouri and said thats it.........nothing good is going to happen here lets just pack it up and get outta here. Then I look back towards the Llama's (who by the way can piss about as much as a days worth of rain) and realized that there were only 10 - 12 vaulters still in there. So I figure..........what the heck lets uncover and at LEAST have a practice. Well as soon as the cover starts to come off..........WHAM 25 vaulter start running out of every bldg in the area.................I couldnt believe it, it was like bugs with poles scurrying from every corner to hit the runway.................now what to do. So the runway stays open for an hr while I get my shat together and we run off a pretty good comp (for you officials on here I ran 2 comps at the same time on one sheet with the names in no particular order........it was tough). No one jumped huge but hey we all sat around for about 5 - 7 hours watching it rain and smelling Llama stuff (they dont smell real good). We had just enough light from the 2 street lights near the pit to see the box when the sun went down. Tore down everything and headed to the school we borrowed the pit from........guess what, the football game just got over and about a thousand cars, kids and cops were all over the place. Finally we got back to the motel, got cleaned up and thank goodness HOOTERS still serves til 1am......................back to the room by 2:30 for a GOOD nites sleep and went home the next day after another killer breakfast at Dennys (did I mention Dennys ROCKS).
This was prob the worst and best State Fair Vault I have ever run all wrapped up into one wild weekend.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO STUCK IT OUT WITH US TO HAVE A GREAT TIME. YOUR DEDICATION IS ADMIRABLE.
