No, it really was pole vault. If you watch the news you will no doubt see a blip of me breaking the world record..........three times! Larry Jesse was the official. It was a bungee, and Larry said I barely hooked it with my feet, but if it was a bar it would have stayed. So he went ahead and ratified it.
Retain faith that you will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties.

I heard from some pretty reliable sources that BYU has 3 guys over 17'6" (in a performance trial last week) and of course their sleeper, just back from his mission, Robbie Pratt. If all this pans out BYU is the school to watch in the vault. Of course..........if not the rumor mill strikes again. It anint real til ya do it in a meet!!!!!!!!! Everyones got a higher practice PR, if you dont you need to learn to stretch the truth a little better.

Seeing is believing - seeing "official" results in publications at sanctioned meets with certified officials.
Of course, despite the fact that my own pr is only 4.60m, I once hooked my feet over a 5.80m bungee, and if it was in a meet, it would've stayed up!
It don't count till its in a meet!!!

I have been vaulting with the bar at 16' in practice the last couple weeks - of course that is because Bryan and the U of I guys have it there - and I can gop under it without the fear of ever nocking it down - so I vault - the bar stays up - it was at 16' - I don't think it counts - the wooky needs to help fix my medicore technique - Happy Holidays to all
