I went my senior year. I did really crappy there and didn't have a very fun trip, but yeah it was definitely worth going.

i went twice. as an intermediate i went to the one i seattle. i didnt jump real high but since i am from illinois it was cool to travel so far to a track meet. im still not sure how i convinced my parents to pay for me to fly there and jump. but it was a fun trip i remember vaulting in a big stadium with a moderate crowd. i also remember watching a ballgame in the kingdome before they tore it down and going up in the space needle.
that was in '99 i think. one year it was in nebraska, a much shorter trip, but i didnt qualify :crying:

my final year that i was eligible for jo's(2001) i made it to the meet at sacramento. that was a really fun trip. this time my i was going to fly on my own until my dad figured out that it would be cheaper to take the greyhound and we could both go without spending a whole lot more money. it is a 48 hour bus trip to california from illinois by the way. but it was a great experience as well. i failed to clear a height but it was still glad i went.

so, if you can talk your parents into taking you i say go for it.

theres no qualifying height, you have to get top 3 in ur region.. which sux for me cuz we have 6 people going over 10 feet in my region and theres regions in the middle of nowhere with people clearing 5 ft and going to nationals

Oh, that sucks.
Have the top 3 in SoCal been picked already?

There are AAU Junior Nationals and USATF Junior Nationals.

The AAU National JO Meet will be in Iowa in early August and the USATF National JO Meet will be in Eugene, OR in late July.
