Does anyone here take any supplements to gain weight, lose weight, get ripped, ect...? Since this season is over, ive been liftin and running to stay in shape and to get faster and stronger so i can get higher next year, i got some TwinLab Creatine Fuel from advice from a teammate. SO does anyone take them, if so what do you use, and whats your review on it?

a one a day vitamin is always a good investment, I have taken amino acid supplements in the past, I didn't get ripped, or anything like that, but I did feel like my body was a little quicker to recover from workouts. Be careful what you take, there is a huge list of banned substances. you may want to check the us anti doping web page if you want to make sure.

Be careful on creatine supplements. Depending upon body reactions, I remember some people having kidney/liver problems if its taken too much at a time. Better off not taking it in the 1st place.

I've taken weight gain protein mix myself to suppement during the season but there are natural ways (i.e. eating potatoes) can help bulk up weight if your on a weight lifting program.

Be carful with ALL supplements. They are NOT regulated and research has shown that well over 75% contain little to none of what they claim on the lable and in many cases contain a lot of things they dont list (ie steroids). Train hard, eat right, take a multi vitamin.............dont risk the rest of that crap. You just dont know what is really in it. Stay out of GNC.........most of what they sell is not reliable. Check it out on line there is lots of research out there. There is no short cut for proper diet and solid training.

I agree totally. only thing id recommend is proper diet, rest, and perhaps protein supplement. as far as im concerned, potatoes are a source primarily for carbohydrates (starch) which would help with something like extended aerobic activity, but in order to 'bulk up', the primary nutrient necessary would be protein, though potatoes would contribute significantly to energy... For what its worth my older brother who works out all the time has tried several supplements, only thing that led to results was a protein shake, helped him get bigger faster. nothin else really helped.

yea i know that you have to be really careful with creatine. we learned a lot about it in my anatomy class this year and i was actually studying for finals today, so its fresh in my head. but anyways ... its a dehydrant and it just makes you drink a lot of water. and muscles swell with water right? so they're really not even as big as they seem with creatine. heres the thing with a dehydrant with creatine. if you dont drink enough water or whatever the creatine can crystallize in your kidneys and thats bad. like could require surgery. just eat right and train hard. do it the right way :yes: i wouldnt take the risk

K, so me and my friends have been lifting since forever, and the ABSOLUTE BEST results that we have seen came from a product called NITROTECH made my MuscleTech. Get the powder form and mix a half to three-quarter dose with a banana or some fruit juice in a blender and drink that up after a workout. It will put weight on you fairly quickly, but what I liked, being a vaulter was the fact that it was LEAN muscle that I got. I stopped taking it after a bottle, and all the weight stayed on me.
Also, piggy-back the nitrotech with some L-Glutamine pills, full dosage for muscle fiber recovery, and you are golden. Glutamine is mad cheap, and any brand is good. But don't take my word for it...

BTW, Nitrotech is completely legal, all natural. Its just the perfect blend of vitamins and nutrients for guys in our sport. Its like eating four meals in one shake.

Take it to a lab and have it analyzed.............if it passes the test then i say go for it!!! Until supplements are regulated they can claim to have all the vitamins they want........then put in whaterver will get the results. The point here is most are NOT what they say they are nor do they contain what they say they do..............be cautious to stay eligable.

I heard that the Creatine Sereum makes it so you don't have to drink so much water. Again though, its just something you "hear."

Thanks you guys for yalls comments and suggestions :) Im still debating to take it, I take one-a-day vitamins, drink plenty of water everyday and work out all the time.

Yea, i think everyone pointed out the various issues concerning supplements. Creatine is dangerous item - especially after watching some of the MLB players today who end up injuring themselves.

If you really want to get that natural protein, you can always go on a baked beans/chili diet....but I don't think fellow jumpers want to be standing behind you during run throughs :)
