pole weight

i was just wondering if they make any poles around 130 lbs that are long? we have 4 poles that are around 130-140lbs. one is a 9 foot pole (worthless) one is alittle over 11 feet, one is exactly 12 feet, and the biggest is 13 feet. well i was gettin 12'6/13' with the 13 foot pole, and it broke wednesday, and leagues are tomarrow. now i gotta use the 12' pole and i can only get 12 feet, and i only got 12'6 once at practice and i barley got it, i hit the bar. we have a 160lb pole thats 14 feet long, and a 155 pole thats 14 feet. my friend uses the 160lb 14 foot pole, and he soars over 12'6 easy with like no form, and has gotten 13 feet a few times. is my school just really cheap? or do they ever make long poles around 130-140 lbs?

They make any size pole if you are willing to pay for it, but a longer pole does not mean you will jump higher.

taking a quick look at UCS's site, I saw 14ft poles ranging from 125-185lbs. And I'm assuming all other manufacturers carry the same ranges. With leagues being tomorrow you'll hafta check around with other area schools to find something that'll fit ya. Good Luck :yes:

i was gettin 13 feet with my 13'1 pole. and i can only get 12 feet with my 12'0 pole. if i had a 14 foot pole, im sure i could get 14 feet, but i doubt i would get into the pit with the 160lb 14' pole, id need a lower weight pole. my coach said you should jump about 2 feet over the length of your pole. i couldnt imagine doin that. even if i did, id only make 14 feet, and that might not even win the meet. one school has a 14 foot jumper. he only got it once though. ive been practicin the past 2 days with the 12' 140lb pole, so i think ill just use that at the league meet. maybe i can still get a medal if i get 12 feet. our school is poor, but i gotta make the best of it :)
