State Meet in One Week

Unread postby ChicksnSticks » Thu May 13, 2004 11:56 pm

Hello there. Just got done with districts in the 2A division in Idaho and I'm heading to state for the 4th year in a row! Last year I got 2nd with a vault of 9'6" my current PR. I've got exactly one week until state and I would love any advice anyone's willing to offer. I'm going to attempt to use a 12ft 140 pole and my biggest problems right now is adjusting from my 11ft 140. I could use some pointers on how to have a consistent run and how to swing to get vertical. Thanks :)

Don't try to move strait from the end of the 12' to the end of the 13'! I would just move up 2 fingers at a time and make shure you are driving you knee! The longer the pole you have the more speed you need and more knee drive! Stick your chest out too, when you plant! Good Luck at state :)
PM me if you know of any vaults around the Midwest!
