i need help!

i need help!
ive been pole vaulting for one year and im a sophmore in highschool. we never had anyone to really teach us accept the senor who graduated last year. apparentl, from what ive been watching, im not doing it right. i dont know how to get the pole to bend like its suppose to. the best ive done was 9 ft and i was wondering if icould get some help. as of now im clueless. i cant bend the pole at all or go inverted at best i go leve with my hands.

well if u can get level with ur hands.. saying holding 9'8 and jumping 9 thats really good heh.. but i dont think thats wat u meant... but ya there r alot of sites and stuff u can get it off of.. one of them is advantageathletics.com another is pvei.com they have alot of stuff that can help u like drills and videos and stuff u can read abotu how to do it right...also another thing i would suggest is going to a camp. u siad u had no one to teach u and i think that a camp/clinic is a really good thing to do, i kno it helped me out alot.
also i think one reason y ur not bending mayb is becuase ur holding too low to bend, i couldnt bend until i hit 9'6 not that it means anything but ya u could prob straightpole over 10 although bending does help heh... ifi u really want to bend u can also lengthen ur grip alittle too it helps.

as has been said on here a million times, were pole vaulting, not pole bending. The bend comes when you are doing other thigns right, like your plant and takeoff. Work allot on the technique of those, and the pole will start bending when your getting it right!

thanks for the help those sites are really helpfull i got the basics down ok so i guess ill be on the right track. i want 10 to 11 feet by the end of the season. then next year the school record of 11'8''. I hope thats entirely possible. and fong520 thats what is mean i hold it at about 9'2 and get 8'6 in practice but i dont rotate around. last season i did so i guess i need to get back into the swing of things too.

we have one of the best coaches in the state at my school
&& 4 freshman vaulters
one of these freshman is the younger brother of last years washington statechampion
his name is ryan && his best is only 9'0, while his brothers was 16'0
obviously this is depressing to him, considering that i jump 9'0 as well (and im a girl)
but its because he als ocannot get inverted
i dont know if this relates to you
but this is because he isnt strong enoguh in his shoulders
so we go into the weight room each day of practice and work on shoulders
we hang from the pull up bar and lift our legs to our hands
it helps...
