Pretty impressive consistency there, maybe the best of all time? Does that outdo the best from Bubka?
Congratulations on a great season!

Re: Lavillinie finishes DL year with 5.96
The year Bubka went 6.14, his top 10 marks for the year were:
6.14A WR
6.05
6.05i
6.00
6.00
6.00i
5.95
5.95
6 at 5.90
Renaud this year:
6.02 NR
6.01i
5.96
5.96
5.95
5.95
5.94i
5.93i
5.92i
5.92
5.92
(none at 5.90)
So I would give the nod to Bubka, but I think Renaud probably has to be #2 all time for number of 5.90+ jumps in a season? I haven't had time to check anyone else though. Renaud is still fairly young too, Bubka was about 4 years older than Renaud is now in the year he jumped 6.14. At Renaud's age, Bubka's PR was 6.06, and we all know Renaud basically cleared 6.07 this year.
I can't wait to see what the future holds for Renaud!

Were those bars enroute to a higher bar? I was only counting final marks in the competition, which is the same for that list of Bubka.

Sure but then it is apples and oranges because Bubka had plenty of 5.90+ jumps enroute to 6m+ and I don't have his height progressions.

Re: Lavillinie finishes DL year with 5.96
As Renaud no longer updates his website, I do not know when his next competition is, but I noticed he will jump on the 21th of december at
"La perche aux étoiles" in Aulnay-sous-bois.
Maybe another good performance in 2013 ?
He said on his twitter yesterday he had a new PB on 2 steps, 4m, his previous was 3,85 m (from http://www.renaud-lavillenie.com/pages/ ... 65999.html)
I guess taller guys (such as Hooker, Walker, Otto)...) have much better PB on 2 steps ?
Edit: in fact he has updated his website, and Aulnay is his next competiton.
