I have a pulled/strained/torn groin, and I haven't seen a sports med for it yet. My doctor said to jsut take asprin which isn't that much help. If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated. THis has been ailing me for about a month now on and off. I can make it through a meet or practice, but I pay dearly for it later. Thanks again,


Take a week off hard training! Try to do some really light abduction/adduction work......like 3 sets of 10 with each leg. Also, do some leg press with one leg too. The point is to get your body moving in the right way so that it can heal, so be sure to work clear under your pain threshold. Hope this helps.

Dont do stim, it feels good but I have found it just irritates the muscles. Drink water, heat the muscle prior to workout, then get REALLY warm, stretch hard, and if you have them available, get massages before practice. I dont have enough hands to count the number of muscles that I pulled/strained/knotted in my back with my stress fractures, so I have had trial and error over and over again.

oh man funny stuff. adduction is simply squeezin your legs together (inner thigh/groin) abduction is basically spreading legs (works hip flexors/obliques-not sure if hip flexors is correct terms, but muscle on side of hip is what i mean) working those will basically strengthen and stretch your groin, again emphasizing lowe weight, high reps, stretching, massaging, icing and heating, etc. etc.
