pulled muscles
a lot of people face problems with pulled muscles and i was just wondering what is the best way to treat them back to normal?
If your school has a decent trainer maybe they will have a stim machine. I think a combo of light weight exercises, ice and stim really help to a quick recover. Also I was told by a trainer that if you've pulled a muscle you might not want to overstretch it while it is still hurt cause it may cause further injury.

Last season, I pulled my hamstring the first day of practice. It was really well timed... . But I got close to normal in about a month's time. I stretched, did light jogging, and did lunges. The time it takes for you to recover all depends on how bad the pull is. Mine was about 3 or 4 inches above the back of my knee, so maybe that'll help u gauge it. Also, continue to stretch and sprint when it's feeling good because you don't want to have the scar tissue I currently have.
The Matrix has you...

Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate............you cannot drink too much water. One of the primary causes of pulled muscles is a lack of water. And I am not talking about those crap sports drinks or soda (word from another topic), drink lots of water throughout the day and during your workouts and competitions.

hydrate. eat good. take time stretching, don't strech too hard. stretch to tightness not to pain. do some drills stretching, going through running motions, planting motions.... keep your pratice at an even tempo. The second worst thing you can do is go too hard on it, the worst being nothing at all.....

In addtition t the aboved metioned. Get warmed up b-4 your event and if your vaulting stay warmed up. Don't take a vault then stand around w/o any sweats on until your nest jump (unless your vaulting in the bahamas). The article I posted from American academy of sports med. references another study where they found the biggest thing that prevented muscle pulls was a light warm up.

I have a pulled/strained/torn groin, and I haven't seen a sports med for it yet. My doctor said to jsut take asprin which isn't that much help. If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated. THis has been ailing me for about a month now on and off. I can make it through a meet or practice, but I pay dearly for it later. Thanks again,
